My Five Cents For those of you who tuned in, you probably noticed the musical selection was lacking a bit of the regular Northwest flavor. Most of the songs were late-90s mainstream rap. Just before air, I realized we didn't upload the correct playlist so I grabbed whatever I could find. Mike Lederer, the newest member of The [Five], was in studio for nearly the entire show. We had a great conversation about the NFL, MLB and how we celebrated his birthday. WJPZ General Manager, Alex Brewer, stopped by for the close. He had been at the station for roughly six hours at that point and wanted to get some air time after listening to me give him props in the opener. Check out the segments with Mike Lederer below Tuesday Night Stew Doug Ferguson, AP Golf Writer, is reporting that Tiger Woods was selected to the Ryder Cup team. It's an interesting twist. Just a few weeks ago, team captain, Corey Pavin was upet when Jim Grey reported he was going to select Tiger Woods. Now, Pavin has selected Tiger Woods. Awesome. Nothing like fielding a guy who has been playing just above “meh” for the last eleven months. I'm not anti-Tiger. In fact, I think that you HAVE to take Tiger Woods. I just wanted to be a pain. Now that it is out of the way – I have a real question. Really, Corey Pavin? You picked Rickie Fowler? “It just came down to feelings,” Pavin told the AP. “I had a gut feeling about Rickie.” I feel like Ed Lover. C'mon Son! You've got a guy feeling? I've got a gut feeling, too. Rickie hasn't placed higher than second place (Waste Management Phoenix Open) and is on 25 on the money list. Rickie has only made 16 cuts. And Rickie only has five Top 10 finishes. He hasn't finished in the Top 30 since July. Oh, wait. Those aren't feelings those are facts. And then, he finished the Deutsche Bank Championship this last weekend in 41st! NickelBlocked Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports is reporting that Reggie Bush is going to lose his Heisman Trophy. In the article, he writes: “Two sources close to the Heisman trust said the body’s investigation is coming to a close, and will ultimately concur with the NCAA’s determination that Bush was ineligible during his Heisman-winning season in 2005. Because of that independent conclusion, sources said the trust will relieve Bush of the award and leave the honor for that season vacant. The sources said Bush met with Heisman representatives last month at the New York law offices of Emmet, Marvin & Martin. The sources would not reveal details of that meeting.” I'd discuss this now.. But there will be a podcast out soon detailing the entire situation.
